We invite applications for two positions to support the daily upkeep of prep rooms and laboratories within the School of Life Sciences. These roles are essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and functional environment, ensuring high standards of hygiene and efficiency.
Both positions involve working as part of a team across the school to support laboratory operations, including handling autoclaves, automated dishwashers, and other machinery to ensure a safe and effective working environment for lab staff.
We are looking for candidates with strong communication skills who can demonstrate a methodical and structured approach to their work. The ideal candidates will be able to meet set deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy, even when working under pressure.
These roles involve managing multiple tasks simultaneously, requiring good time management and organizational abilities. Successful applicants will be able to prioritize effectively, ensuring efficiency and consistency across all responsibilities.
Both role holders will have a good standard of education, evidenced by GCSEs or equivalent qualification demonstrating numeracy and literacy or equivalent experience working in same/similar role. Previous experience in a laboratory environment would be desirable but not essential.
Please note that candidates must be able to lift and move objects as this role will involve transporting glassware, waste, and consumables regularly throughout the day.
It is essential for this role, that the candidate holds a full manual UK driving licence.
These two positions are offered on permanent contracts, one full-time role (36.25 hours per week) and one part-time role (30 hours per week).
