We are seeking a Professor in Criminology and/or Criminal Justice for a pivotal role developing and delivering research and innovation objectives that contribute to University and School Innovation Strategies. You will promote an innovative academic environment which brings tangible benefits and impacts for other groups and organisations outside the higher education sector.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic leadership, development, mentoring and career development advice to colleagues and students in all areas of teaching and learning.
- Develop plans and deliver research and innovation objectives that contribute to University and School Innovation Strategies.
- Develop local, national and international collaborative partnerships with organisations, communities, educational institutions, academics and practitioners to develop research and innovation projects, enable implementation and optimise impact.
- Play a leading role developing an innovative academic environment enabling tangible benefits and impacts for other groups and organisations outside the higher education sector.
- Provide leadership in the ongoing development and delivery of cutting-edge teaching in criminology and criminal justice at postgraduate and undergraduate levels.
School and Subject Overview
The post will initially be based in the School of Health & Society and transition to the new School of Social Science, Business and Law.
Successful candidates have the opportunity to join the Centre for Research on Inclusive Society (CRIS), a multidisciplinary research centre dedicated to advancing knowledge on inclusive policies and practices. It brings together researchers working on issues of social inclusion and exclusion across areas including justice, welfare, housing, education, and health. The Centre fosters collaborative, interdisciplinary research informed by real-world issues and grounded in strong partnerships with local authorities, housing providers, third sector organisations, and government bodies. The Centre’s aim is to produce rigorous, evidence-based research that informs policy and practice and contributes to building a more inclusive, equitable society.
