We are working on innovative electrical machines that are instrumental in the decarbonisation of transport, and you will be critical to that success. The primary challenges are associated with the development manufacturing processes, their cost reduction and applications engineering of electric machines and drives. The post will work on the design of electrical machines and systems using analytical methods and finite element analysis.
We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
This role will require a Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check (BPSS) and this will include undertaking a basic DBS check. This will need to be completed before any work can commence.
About You
An engineer with a pragmatic approach to electromagnetic design of electrical machines and devices, including the engineering challenges in design for manufacture, performance and efficiency. Their background might include skills and know-how in electro-magnet design within electrical machines and transformers, using software such as Ansys, Maxwell, MotorCad and others.
