Are you a talented Biomedical educator who is passionate about teaching the next generation of Biomedical Scientists? If so, Birmingham City University is looking to recruit you.
Birmingham City University launched its Biomedical Sciences degree in 2017, from its expertise and strong reputation in Health Sciences. Following significant growth in the course and the recent accreditation with the Institute of Biomedical Sciences, we are seeking to recruit a full-time, permanent teaching fellow with the skills and expertise to complement our existing team. Your expertise will develop and enhance our teaching and learning in Biomedical Sciences and will support development of a new Human Biosciences course. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to pedagogic research within the team. We are specifically seeking an individual with expertise in Clinical Pathology or Clinical Biochemistry, although applications from highly innovative educators from any field of the Biomedical Sciences will be considered. The post holder would also be expected to engage with teaching across the School of Life and Health Sciences portfolio.
You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and ideally will be recognised as a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). Applications from suitably qualified professionals with industrial or professional experience will be particularly welcome. Applicants would ideally have teaching experience in Higher Education and be able to demonstrate their innovative teaching practice and student-centred approaches to enhancing teaching and learning.
