About the role… 

We are looking for a Laboratory Research Scientist who will join our team and support the structural and functional studies we are carrying out on different components of the ubiquitin system.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to be involved in developing tools that support ongoing projects in the team, working closely with other lab members. You should have previous experience in general molecular biology techniques and protein expression and purification methods, though specific training can be provided as required

What you will be doing… 

As a Laboratory Research Scientist at the Crick, you will: 

  • Provide technical and research support in the area of protein biochemistry and molecular biology, including production of recombinant proteins for structural studies
  • Contribute to the development of biochemical assays to study protein ubiquitination
  • Provide support to establish novel technologies in the lab

About you…  

You will bring

  • B.Sc./M.Sc. in biochemistry or related discipline
  • Proven working knowledge and experience in general molecular biology techniques and recombinant protein production
  • Experience in the use of eukaryotic systems for recombinant protein production
  • Good technical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan and manage your own work schedule and maintain accurate records to document research progress
  • Ability to use Windows operating system (e.g. Access, Excel, Word) and Web browser-based databases.
