About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Trial Coordinator who shares our passion for advancing cancer prevention research to join The Cancer Research UK Cancer Prevention Trials Unit (CPTU) at Queen Mary University of London. Your primary project will be the FINESSE trial (FINasteride Evaluation in Surveillance for proStatE cancer). Funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research, the overall aim is to investigate whether finasteride, an existing drug that slows prostate growth and reduces the protein prostate specific antigen levels, can be used to improve active surveillance by reducing the number of men who undergo surgery or radiotherapy needlessly.
Working with the Trial Manager, you will support the delivery of all aspects of day-to-day coordination and take the lead on data management and monitoring activities.
About You
You will be a detail-oriented and motivated professional looking to provide hands-on coordination support to the management of clinical trials. Previous exposure to clinical trials, especially CTIMPS will be a significant asset. Your effective communication skills, both written and verbal, will enable you to collaborate seamlessly with interdisciplinary team members and external stakeholders and your keen attention to detail will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of trial documentation.
About the Institute
The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 450 staff, 100 PhD students and c500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and aims to be an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six separate research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.
The Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis forms part of the WIPH and brings together globally leading researchers focusing on cancer prevention, cancer screening and detection and early diagnosis across three units including the CRUK-funded Cancer Prevention Trials Unit. CCSPED also hosts the cross-cutting Cancer Behavioural Science group.
