About the Role
We are recruiting an 18-month technician position as a part of an MRC funded project. This position will focus on investigating bacterial and host factors influencing early interaction of Mycobacterium tuberculosis with macrophages to explore targets for anti-virulence approaches in tuberculosis drug development. The work will involve establishing and running drug sensitivity assays, lipidomics, infection experimental assays and the role will provide opportunities for career growth.
About You
Applicants should have a BSc in biological sciences and be able to work independently and collaboratively within a team, with a strong background in human and murine primary cell culture, and in vitro culturing of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Familiarity with lipidomics, lipid isolation, in vitro infection techniques is desirable.

The Blizard Institute was established in 2003, one of six Institutes within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 350 staff based in four academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service.
