We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.

The Department of Physics seeks to appoint a motivated Research Physicist Programmer within the Elementary Particle Physics (EPP) Group at the University of Warwick working on the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment in the Neutrino Physics Group. This position is supported by the Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC) and the UK Research Innovation (UKRI) and is initially for 18 months with scope for continuation contingent on the award of new project funding. The position is available for an immediate start with a current funding end date of 31 January 2027.

The successful candidate will work with Dr Ben Richards and his group on the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment. This experiment is in the construction phase, with Warwick responsible for part of the development of the data acquisition systems (DAQ), slow control, web monitoring front end and backend to be installed in Hyper-Kamiokande. Primary responsibilities of the role will be concerned with the development and testing of the online monitoring and control systems for the Hyper Kamiokande experiment, and support for the installation and integration of the data acquisition system in Hyper-Kamiokande on schedule.

This is an exciting time to become involved with one of the next-generation neutrino oscillation experiments from the start.
