LSE is committed to building a diverse, equitable and truly inclusive university
Open-ended, subject to funding contract, initially until 30th June 2027
LSE Cities is a dynamic research centre at the London School of Economics and Political Science, dedicated to studying how the world's cities are shaped and transformed. We foster cutting-edge research, convene impactful events, and develop future leaders in urban development.
The Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative is a pioneering program to help mayors and their teams across the continent strengthen leadership skills, drive public sector innovation, and tackle complex urban challenges to deliver tangible results for residents in new ways.
The Programme Manager is a critical role and will act as Head of Programme's right-hand in support of the strategy, management and delivery of the Bloomberg LSE European City Leadership Initiative. The post-holder will support the Head of Programme to build and sustain the programme’s momentum, establish the programme’s reputation across Europe, and ensure that the pilot programme creates real impact and value for participating city leaders.
The Initiative is developed with the support and collaboration of a dispersed team of international funders and delivery partners. Programme implementation will demand a high level of engagement and oversight from senior stakeholders. The post-holder will work closely with the Head of Programme to develop productive relationships with key funder and delivery partners, in support of smooth implementation of the programme. Core responsibilities include programme co-ordination, resource management, and task integration of all cross-cutting aspects of programme delivery.
Candidates should have significant professional experience managing complex, six figure plus projects and programmes, including budget management and resource allocation. Candidates should also have proven analytical and problem-solving capacity, as well as excellent communication skills, with the ability to present clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders and manage relationships with external partners.
We offer an occupational pension scheme, generous annual leave, hybrid working, and excellent training and development opportunities.
