The College
The College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare (CNMH) is a major provider of healthcare education in London and Berkshire, delivering high quality, dynamic courses, using a variety of innovative teaching and learning methods, at all academic levels (undergraduate to doctoral).
The Role
As a result of the expansion of our pre-registration MSc Paramedic Science course, we are seeking to recruit either a Senior Lecturer or Lecturers on a full time basis. However, we will consider appropriately applicants on a part-time pro-rata basis by agreement.
The MSc Paramedic Science course was the first Pre-registration course offered at postgraduate level in London. This innovative course ensures a student centred approach and continues to grow from strength to strength. We are extremely proud to partner with the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust (LAS).
Senior Lecturer
You will be responsible for supporting the Professional Lead and Course Leader and leading the development, management and delivery of high quality, engaging paramedic science modules.
You will hold a Masters Degree and a teaching qualification. Current professional registration with the HCPC as a Paramedic is highly desirable, however we will consider all appropriate Healthcare Educators with an interest in supporting the diversity of Paramedic education.
You will have knowledge of current theory and practice in Paramedic Science in the UK.
You will have knowledge and skills to assess the quality of evidence and its translation to everyday Paramedic practice and service delivery at Masters Level and ideally, experience of supervising Masters level dissertations.
You will have experience of delivering the above in a UK higher education setting. You will also have experience of curriculum development, use of innovative, evidence-based approaches to support teaching and learning and being a module leader.
The post requires enthusiasm, self-motivation, ability to manage your own workload and a willingness to commit to the University’s vision and values.
As a member of the academic team, you will contribute to the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of Paramedic Science within the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare.
Lecturer
You will contribute to the leadership, delivery and continuing development of high quality Paramedic science modules, within the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare.
You will hold a Masters Degree, or be working towards completion. Current professional registration with the HCPC as a Paramedic is desirable, however we will consider all appropriate Healthcare Educators with an interest in supporting the diversity of Paramedic education.
You will have knowledge of current theory and practice in Paramedic science in the UK.
You will have knowledge and skills to assess the quality of evidence and its translation to everyday paramedic practice and service delivery at Masters Level.
You will have experience of teaching and assessment in a clinical or higher education setting. A teaching qualification is not required to apply for this post.
As a member of the academic team, you will assist in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of Paramedic Science within the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare.
