Sidney Sussex College wishes to recruit an experienced senior administrator to fulfil the permanent post of College Registrar. The post is responsible for all aspects of College governance and supports the Principal Officers in ensuring compliance of the College with relevant University, College and other legislative requirements. The post-holder will undertake the role of Secretary to the Governing Body and College Council. In addition, they will have general oversight of the College’s committee structures, and keep under review policies, regulations and processes to ensure compliance in specific areas such as Data Protection and Prevent.
The role calls for strong organisational and communication skills with a high degree of planning, attention to detail and the ability to persuade others. The successful candidate is likely to hold a degree or equivalent, have experience of interpreting and applying regulations and/or legislation, and be able to work pro-actively and independently in a varied, demanding and rewarding working environment.
Reflecting the close engagement with the Principal Officers, College Council and the Fellowship, the post-holder will be a Bye-Fellow of the College. The College may consider proposals for flexible working arrangements outside University full term.
The salary is based on the University single salary spine between points 46 – 52. This currently equates to £42,882 – £51,039 per annum, please note a cost of living increase is pending. Salary progression through the range is discretionary. Benefits include an annual leave entitlement of 33 days holiday, including bank holidays; access to a contributory pension scheme provided by USS; and dining privileges of a Bye-Fellow.
