Within the newly designed Student and Academic Services (SAS) Directorate, Admissions delivers a high-quality service to enquirers, applicants, and their advisers. The Compliance Team is situated within our wider Admissions team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Compliance Manager to join our busy Compliance Team to provide cover for a maternity leave. The post holder will be responsible for leading a team of Compliance Officers, managing their workload, auditing work for quality and compliance, and ensuring excellent customer service.
The post holder will ensure and promote compliance with Student Route visa immigration rules and Student Sponsor Guidance, as well as DBS check compliance, within the team and the University. The Compliance Manager is also responsible for ensuring the team’s daily on-campus presence.
The Compliance Manager will work collaboratively with the managers across Admissions, and will ensure Compliance are represented on School, Recruitment, and Marketing committees and working groups relating to Student Communications, Registration, and other areas. The Compliance Manager will work closely with Course Management and Attendance and Engagement teams as well to ensure adherence to the immigration rules and relevant University policies.
The post holder will work together with colleagues across Admissions, Marketing and Communications, Planning, and Academic Operations to support and deliver key activities such as Registration, as well as deliver the team’s work that supports our compliance with UK Visas & Immigration’s rules and DBS check compliance.
The Person
You will have experience of staff management or team leadership and relevant experience in a busy compliance environment. You will be able to motivate and develop a team to ensure high levels of accuracy and customer service. You will have an awareness of the current issues impacting Higher Education, as well as an excellent knowledge of UK Visas and Immigration’s Student Route and Sponsor Guidance. A knowledge of DBS checks and the requirements of this process would be an asset for this role.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. This role is partially hybrid however, there are several periods during the year where full-time, on-site working is required.
Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the service being delivered and to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that the majority of your working time will be spent on campus.
