The Baby Ubuntu programme is a group-participatory programme of early care and support for young children with developmental disabilities - one of three programmes under the umbrella of the ‘Ubuntu Hub’ (https://www.ubuntu-hub.org/). The Principal Investigator is Prof Cally Tann.
We are seeking a Research Fellow in Early Child Development & Disability to coordinate the development, implementation and evaluation of the programme, including: mixed methods evaluation of programme impact; new modules for the programme manual and tablet application; stakeholder-mapping activities; and onboarding new implementation partners and supporting them in delivering the programme. You will also support the development and evaluation of a new Ubuntu Master Trainer programme.
The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic and clinical experience in caring for and supporting children with developmental disabilities and their families in low-resource multicultural settings, and relevant experience in Early Child Development and Disability programme/project management. The ability to communicate and negotiate effectively at all levels is essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.
The post is part-time 21 hours per week, 0.6 FTE and fixed-term until 31 March 2026. The post is funded by the CRI Foundation and is available from 01 October 2025.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 in the range £45,097 - £51,156 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
