Background
City Sight is the University's on-site clinical training facility for optometry students. It provides a range of eye care services to the public. The clinic is central to the training of final-year students and supports the delivery of NHS and private sight tests, contact lens appointments and eyewear dispensing. This role offers the opportunity to join a friendly and supportive team and contribute to a valued healthcare and teaching environment.
Responsibilities
The Clinic Support Administrator will assist at the reception area, coordinate patient appointments and maintain accurate clinic records. The role supports both the operational and academic teams and includes liaison with students, tutors and external partners. Duties also include managing clinical paperwork, supporting stock control and helping with NHS processes and general clinic readiness.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will be organised, approachable and experienced in administration or reception work, ideally in a healthcare or educational setting. They will have excellent communication skills, a good working knowledge of IT systems and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy clinical environment. Accuracy, professionalism and a positive attitude are essential.
