Based within the School of Engineering at Faculty of Engineering and Science at the University of Greenwich, this professorial role is a key part of our strategic transformation as we realign our academic portfolio to focus on Digital Engineering, with a particular emphasis on Infrastructure and the Built Environment. Operating across two campuses—Greenwich in London and Medway in Kent—this position will be primarily based at the Greenwich campus and will provide academic leadership across our Digital Engineering portfolios.

The successful candidate will be expected to lead and shape the strategic direction of the Infrastructure and Built Environment area. This will include championing curriculum innovation, leading research and enterprise activity, and ensuring the highest standards of academic quality and relevance. The postholder will play a key leadership role within the School and Faculty of Engineering and Science, contributing to strategic planning, management, mentoring, and capacity-building across academic teams.

As a research leader, you will be expected to drive and grow externally funded research activity aligned to the School’s strengths and research centres and ambitions, supporting the University's goals in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), while also contributing significantly to Teaching Excellence (TEF), Knowledge Exchange (KEF), and overall student satisfaction. You will provide leadership in developing impactful research that aligns with sector priorities and delivers real-world value.

We are seeking a distinguished and visionary academic with an international profile in a relevant discipline and a proven track record of excellence in research, teaching, and leadership. You will bring extensive experience in higher education or professional practice, with a strong portfolio of successful research grant capture, peer-reviewed outputs, and engagement with relevant industry and professional bodies.
