Main duties and responsibilities
As part of a newly established team, based in Academic Services, we’re looking for a motivated and detail-driven individual to join our AQ Systems and Surveys team. In this pivotal role, you’ll provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues across the University, ensuring the smooth and effective delivery of key student surveys and academic quality processes. You will lead the delivery of major student surveys including the National Student Survey (NSS), Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), Educational Gains and Student Feedback surveys.
You will oversee critical data for Discover Uni and Professional Body Accreditations and coordinate elections for University board memberships in collaboration with Governance Services. Working closely with peers across the Programme and Curriculum Support Team, you’ll support academic quality processes and ensure compliance with University policies (UPRs) and external regulatory requirements. You’ll play a key role in monitoring data quality and maintaining quality systems, working in partnership with Section Heads and the Associate Director. You will foster a culture of flexibility, excellence and collaboration across Academic Services and with colleagues in academic schools and the Student Administration Service.
Skills and experience required
You will have substantial proven administrative experience of the full academic cycle, preferably within an HEI, along with substantial proven IT experience including proficiency in the use of databases, spreadsheets, and word-processing packages. You’ll have evidenced supervisory experience and proven team working experience. You will have experience of assimilating and interpreting complex regulations and procedures and will be able to work effectively and flexibly on own initiative, managing a busy workload under pressure. The ideal candidate will exhibit excellent attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to create excellent working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally. You’ll demonstrate a good understanding of customer care, with proven problem-solving skills, finding pragmatic solutions.
Qualifications required
You will be educated with a minimum of a Degree or equivalent, or proven experience.
