About us
This key role is in the Operations Finance Business Partnering team, which is part of the Finance, Procurement, Strategic planning and Analytics directorate.
The FPSPA Directorate provides quality financial support, advice and planning in pursuit of the university’s stated academic objectives. In particular it is committed to the provision of strong financial leadership in all areas of activity undertaken by the university, to the provision of sound professional advice on all aspects of financial management, and to the achievement and maintenance of a high-quality service.
About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to enable good decision making, promote strong financial control and support several key stakeholders in our Operational Directorates to meet their financial planning, operational and strategic objectives.
Working closely with both senior academic and professional staff, the post holder will influence the way key King’s Operational programmes and commercial programmes are financially managed, to maximise the programme’s strategic impact. This influence will be delivered through high-quality analysis and effective communication in formal committees and day-to-day conversations.
You will be a qualified accountant with significant experience of management accounting including supporting new business cases with financial modelling, setting up accounting and reporting frameworks for reporting to multiple partners, budget building, monthly reporting, and forecasting. You will provide regular reports and commentary to senior stakeholders to enable them to optimise their decision-making.
We are seeking a curious, enthusiastic, and approachable accountant with strong interpersonal skills. An understanding of accounting for Capital Projects is desirable along with an understanding of Project Management Methodologies.
This role will be a key partner for a number of strategic areas of King’s Operations and the main link between the Finance, Procurement, Strategic Planning and Analytics Directorate and those Operational Directorates.
This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered a 12-month fixed term contract
