We are seeking to hire a Research Fellow to join a recently funded exciting EDCTP clinical trials group for the next 3-4 years involving 5 sub-Saharan African partners and 5 European partners aiming to optimize treatment for female genital schistosomiasis. The post holder will join the LSHTM Schistosomiasis Research Group.
The duties of the post will involve coordinating and writing ethical approval documentation, supporting partners in protocol development and laboratory set up and training before and during the clinical trials. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to ad-hoc activities for this and other related grants held by the group, including coordinating meetings with coinvestigators and stakeholders, contributing to writing of publications and contributing to quantitative data analysis.
The successful candidate will have a Postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree in a relevant topic in parasitology, zoology, molecular epidemiology, diagnostics or related topic, in-depth knowledge of neglected tropical diseases, experience of project management and an understanding of laboratory set ups. The post is fixed term until 31 August 2028 funded by the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) with a possibility of extending for 12 months and full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 6 scale in the range £45,907 - £51,156 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting).
The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM.
