Summary of the role

We are seeking maternity cover from the end of September 2025 to the 19th December 2026 (approx. fifteen months) for the post of Project Officer for the Developing Business-Aware Academics project on a full-time basis. We are happy to consider requests for secondments. This post is based on the Streatham Campus on a hybrid basis.

The Developing Business Aware Academics (DBAA) project is a £5m Research England-funded initiative (2023–2027) based at the University of Exeter Business School. It is conducted in collaboration with the Chartered Association of Business Schools and a network of academic, business, policy, and non-profit partners to build an evidence-led programme of training and networking to empower academic researchers in the early stages of their careers, and across all disciplines, with the skills, mindsets and opportunities to engage beyond academia.

The Project Officer supports the Project Manager with the day-to-day running of the project and is the key point of contact for managing finances, data, and the distribution of funds to partners and collaborators. As well as working collaboratively with other members of the team to meet the project’s objectives, they will liaise with external partners, stakeholders and funders to ensure the project runs smoothly. They will take the lead in the planning and delivery of a range of events, support research data collection and storage, and contribute to creative and impactful communications through social media and webpages. They will also act as Secretary to our External Advisory Board. The Project Officer will be managed by the Developing Business-Aware Academics Senior Project Manager, as part of the Exeter Innovation Business School Partnerships and Programmes team.
