The Finance Team is a significant part of the Estates Services Department, which manages the University’s vast property portfolio, including its buildings, commercial properties, and residential lettings. The Finance Operations team plays a vital role in handling the department’s significant financial transactions while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strong customer service.

About the Role

As the Finance Operations Assistant, you will support the University’s day-to-day financial operations across both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. You will help manage transactions involving suppliers and tenants, ensuring payments, income, and reconciliations are processed accurately and in line with internal controls.

You will work closely with colleagues across Estates Services, providing guidance, resolving queries, and ensuring compliance with University regulations.

This is a varied and collaborative role where you'll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Team.

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys working with numbers and systems, and brings a strong eye for detail and good organisational skills. You will also have:

  • Proven experience working in a finance environment, particularly in accounts payable and receivable.
  • Excellent numerical and data handling skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to use financial systems to monitor, process, and reconcile transactions.
  • Confidence working with people across teams, with clear communication and a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to manage your workload independently while contributing to shared team goals.
