The Post
Green Futures Solutions is a flagship initiative at the heart of the University of Exeter 2030 Strategy. It is designed to drive maximum impact from our world-leading environmental research and deliver positive outcomes for climate, nature and business. Launched in Summer 2023, Green Futures Solutions is instrumental to maximising our already comprehensive research impact in a way that is responsive and adaptive to business and external demand.
You will play a key role in delivering integrated solutions to non-academic clients, driving business demand, and identifying opportunities for service growth and partnership. You will lead in the development of both bespoke and “off-the-shelf” solutions for external clients and will work as part of a transdisciplinary team, with colleagues in various academic disciplines and those based within the University’s Exeter Innovation team.
The post is available for immediate start and is a full time and permanent position. We’re looking for an Earth/Climate/Biodiversity Systems specialist to be based within the Global Systems Institute, working closely with Professor Peter Cox (Professor of Climate System Dynamics in Mathematics and the Director of the Global Systems Institute) and colleagues across the Institute and associate programmes and projects. The postholder will work closely with a number of other specialist Impact Fellows leading in areas such as life cycle analysis, circular economy, transition economics and nature-based solutions.
The role is hybrid with some on-campus working and willingness to travel and work across University campuses where business need demands.
About you
The University is seeking to build its team of Impact-focused staff to drive and grow this positive change. You will come either from a business/policy/practitioner or research background, and embrace an ethos of excellence, integrity, collaboration and have strong passion to deliver solutions from science and research. A flexible, dynamic, commercial and positive team-playing mindset is essential.
Please ensure you read the Job Description and Person Specification for full details of this role.
