About the Role
Applications are invited for an MRC-funded Postdoctoral Research Associate post to join the laboratory of Dr Tom Nightingale within the Centre for Microvascular Research. This is a unique opportunity for enthusiastic early-career researchers to contribute to an established team that has already made important scientific impact, advancing our understanding of the cell biology of endothelial cell secretion and its importance to haemostasis and inflammation. Building on significant findings from the PI (e.g. El-Mansi et al., Blood, 2023, El-Mansi. et al., Blood Advances, 2024), using high resolution microscopy, biochemical assays and molecular cell biology both in vitro and in vivo the present project aims to determine the impact of cellular senescence pathways on regulated endothelial secretion. The proposed project holds significant pathophysiological relevance in determining the contribution of endothelial cell phenotypes to the increased prevalence of inflammatory and haemostatic responses in ageing individuals.
About You
We seek outstanding, self-motivated, and ambitious junior researchers committed to pursuing a scientific career. Demonstrable knowledge and a PhD (or close to completion) in the field of cell biology and biochemistry is essential. Previous experience in vascular biology, advanced microscopy, molecular biology and intracellular trafficking both in vitro and in vivo is desirable.
