About the Role

For informal enquiries, please contact Sophia Gibbs (Marketing Manager) s.gibbs.1@warwick.ac.uk.

We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.

As one of the founding members of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC), WMG’s mission is to accelerate innovation in UK manufacturing by uniting high-impact research with industrial insight across diverse sectors.

The successful candidate for this role will work in a busy, dynamic marketing team to implement effective marketing strategies to reach busy manufacturing business leaders, demonstrating to them the impact of innovation and strategic business change, especially for small and medium size enterprises (SMEs).

A major part of this role will include leading on the management of a programme of industry and engineering events with WMG technical, research and business development staff.

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake a range of activities, including creating marketing materials, social media content and building excellent relationships with both our internal stakeholders and external partners and funders.

An area this role will have ownership over is creating engaging content and promoting the WMG support programmes and research to external manufacturing businesses, working closely with the Business Development Team to supporting lead capture, follow ups and drive sign-ups to these programmes.

About You
We are looking for an experienced marketing professional who is passionate about UK manufacturing to promote the WMG research and business support capabilities at a regional and national level. You will have an interest in sustainable technology and the latest innovative research.

You’ll be comfortable working with people across a variety of roles and at all levels, managing multiple events to tight deadlines, and ensuring that stakeholder objectives are being met. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to work with ease with colleagues at all administrative and academic levels, and with business stakeholders are a must.

Preference will be given to candidates with strong event management experience– particularly if it has been within the engineering/manufacturing sector.

The University of Warwick provides a great range of benefits which include an attractive pension scheme, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.

At WMG we are committed to supporting staff to achieve their potential. We are supportive of staff with caring responsibilities including a generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave policy, and onsite childcare facilities. We will consider applications for employment on a part-time or other flexible working basis, even where a position is advertised as full-time, unless there are operational or other objective reasons why it is not possible to do so.
