Edinburgh Law School is seeking an interim Teaching Services Manager to support the Student and Academic Services Team for a period of 12 months. Reporting to the Head of Student and Academic Services, the post-holder will be responsible for teaching operations and academic administration across a range of taught programmes and courses generating around 12k student enrolments each year.

This post combines the need for excellent problem solving and prioritisation skills, a customer-focused approach and the ability to promote successful working relationships with students, colleagues and stakeholders. The role works in close partnership with the Student Support Manager to deliver a holistic student and academic support service from enrolment to award.

This post is fixed-term (for 1 year) and full-time (35 hours per week). 

We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working, though candidates should be aware that the role typically requires at least 4 days working on site in Old College in order to provide practical support and visible leadership to the team. 

The salary for this post is at Grade UE07: £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • You have a degree or equivalent training plus relevant work experience, or a track record of administrative experience at a senior level in an HE environment.
  • You will have proven experience of both leading and managing teams and working collaboratively across boundaries in to deliver services to users or customers.
  • You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
  • You will be used to resolving complex problems and using your influencing skills to find a resolution.
  • You will have excellent administration skills.
