The Subject Area of Communications and Humanities is seeking to recruit a University Practitioner in Media.
The Department of Humanities in the School of Arts and Humanities offers a BA (Hons) in Media and Film Studies, which will be the main focus of this post. This course involves media theory content as well as practical media industries related content.
You will contribute to the development and delivery of undergraduate programmes. It is expected that this post will focus on media and film studies modules, including Horror & Cult Film, Stars and Celebrity, Cultural Theory, and supervise projects and dissertations. Supplementary ability to contribute to the teaching of undergraduate modules on Advertising, Branding and/or Media Influencers would also be useful. You will join us to deliver teaching, learning and administration activities. You will be an engaging teacher, ideally also with professional experience in an area of the media industry.
With a Master’s degree and demonstrable teaching experience in media together with professional experience in a media industries context, you will be able to demonstrate that you can support students through a range of methods and strategies to ensure a high-quality learning experience.
As a Practitioner, we expect you to be actively engaged in practice in addition to your role at the University. This can be either through paid employment with another employer, paid consultancy, or freelance work.
Informal enquiries are welcome to Dr. Merrick Burrow, Subject Area Leader in Communications and Humanities, via email: M.Burrow@hud.ac.uk
