About the Role
The role requires a high level of technical expertise and is a key contributor in driving forward a significant program of application improvements through maximizing system capabilities.
By engaging with stakeholders and collaborating closely with the Business Systems Manager, the Finance Department, and other IT teams, the postholder will ensure that financial systems are optimised for efficiency, security, and compliance. Additionally, the postholder will play a key role in supporting and enhancing business and financial processes through technology solutions, aligning with both departmental and organisational strategic goals.
About You
The successful candidate will bring expert knowledge of financial applications—particularly Unit4 ERP—to drive forward a program of continuous improvement and innovation. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance and IT stakeholders to design, implement, and support robust, secure, and efficient systems that align with the University’s strategic goals.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead on complex projects, contribute to process automation and AI integration, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and data security standards. You’ll be instrumental in enhancing user experience, supporting business operations, and delivering high-quality technical solutions.
This role requires a high level of technical expertise to proficiently fulfil a full and active role in supporting the development lifecycle of application services and strategies within the organisation, thus ensuring new systems and requirements meet the operational and strategic needs of QMUL.

About the Department
IT Services is the department of the University that is responsible for the provision of all IT-related services. The department develops new IT solutions in collaboration with colleagues from across the University, whilst also ensuring the ongoing smooth operation of existing solutions.
This role sits within the Enterprise systems portfolio is within a team of four and reports to the Business Systems Manager (Finance Systems)
