The post – REQ000334 - Payroll Administrator

The University of West of Scotland have an exciting opportunity to join the department of People and Wellbeing as a Payroll Administrator. This position is a fixed term contract over a period of 23 months, and the successful applicant will be an integral part of the team, providing a comprehensive payroll service to employees and pensioners.

The postholder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the monthly payrolls to ensure the accurate and timely payment of approximately 2000 employees. As well as this, the Payroll Administrator will support colleagues across the University schools and departments at all levels, providing solutions and advice in relation to payroll.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • SVQ level 3 in a relevant discipline or equivalent OR equivalent experience
  • Experience within a payroll environment
  • A working knowledge Microsoft office packages, particularly excel
  • An understanding of HR/Payroll systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work towards deadlines
