Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a strong interest in haemostasis and cardiovascular science. This research aims to unpick the cellular and molecular mechanisms responsible for uncontrolled bleeding following a traumatic injury. You will join the laboratory of Dr Gael Morrow within the School of Pharmacy, Applied Sciences & Public Health.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research investigating uncontrolled bleeding following injury. Specifically, you will develop and optimise models of traumatic injury to determine changes in the fibrinolytic response due to the type of injury. Additionally, you will study platelet activation, aggregation and secretion to understand how platelets function following injury. This post would be particularly suited to an individual that is driven by translational projects that link basic science and clinical practice.
This post is available as a fixed-term post as a Research Assistant (Grade 6) or Research Fellow (Grade 7), based on current skills and experience. The salary banding for this advert spans two grades to cover applications for Grade 6 or 7. The post is for 12 months on a full time basis, although part time and flexible working may be considered.
For informal discussion and enquiries, contact Dr Gael Morrow, g.morrow1@rgu.ac.uk
