About us
The Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is dedicated to research on how human behaviour impacts health and health outcomes. Our research and teaching reflect our interdisciplinary approach to health and wellbeing, focusing on a broad range of public health issues, such as alcohol and tobacco use, heart disease, cancer, and obesity.
About the role
The position will be within the Social Biobehavioural Research Group led by Professor Daisy Fancourt, which focuses on the effect of social factors on health. This includes social deficits (e.g. loneliness, isolation and COVID-19 lockdowns) and social assets (e.g. social connections, cultural and community engagement, nature engagement and social prescribing).
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with social prescribing or youth work experience to contribute to the INACT (school social prescribing for lonely young people) and CASPA (social prescribing as young people finish CAMHS) social prescribing projects.
The post-holder will assist with the INACT and CASPA projects by a) working remotely and in person with young people at sites to help them access social prescribing activities and b) contributing to research activities

About you
The successful candidate will have previous experience working in youth social prescribing, community referrals/navigating or connecting, or Youth Work, candidates will need excellent interpersonal, communication, teamwork, organisational skills, evaluation skills and knowledge of the social determinants of health.
