Who we’re looking for:
We're seeking an experienced and versatile Business Lecturer/Senior Lecturer who is confident teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and who is comfortable with the wide range of tasks associated with delivering and administering business programmes, including programme leadership.
As we are a small university with a close-knit teaching team, flexibility and a collaborative approach are essential; our ideal candidate will be comfortable teaching across a range of business disciplines such as HR, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship, operations, supply chain, and research methods.
You should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong grasp of curriculum development, assessment methodologies, and learning enhancement strategies is essential. Prior experience in academic advising, programme development, and engagement with accrediting bodies would be highly advantageous. The candidate should be organised, able to work autonomously, and hold a commitment to maintaining high academic standards. Experience as an academic link tutor, and the willingness to take on this important quality assurance role with our partners, is also highly desirable. Experience of supervising doctoral students, and a willingness to develop in this area, would be a strong advantage.
What you’d be doing:
Where you’ll work:
In this role, you’ll be based in the Department of Social Sciences, Business and Media on our green campus in the north of Plymouth.

Supporting our people:
We recognise that our recruitment might bring in staff who are new to higher education and are bringing knowledge and expertise from other fields and practice. We want to ensure that all our academic staff are appropriately qualified to teach in HE and have the confidence to do so; to support this, we offer a Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice (PGCAP) to all new teaching staff without an existing teaching qualification. This provides our new staff with an opportunity to develop their understanding and practice of learning, teaching and pedagogic research/research management in higher education.

We are a ‘Disability Confident Employer’: candidates who declare a disability and who demonstrate on their application that they meet the essential criteria will be included on the shortlist.
