Role Overview

You will deliver teaching, supervision, and assessment for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programme, preparing practitioners for independent decision-making across the four ACP pillars: clinical, leadership & management, education, and research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver lectures, seminars, and practical teaching in clinical assessment, diagnostic reasoning, prescribing, and advanced care pathways.
  • Supervise and mentor students during clinical placements and workplace learning.
  • Design, evaluate, and assess course components, including case studies and clinical scenarios.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support professional competence.
  • Lead and contribute to curriculum development aligned with the ACP framework.
  • Manage course administration, assessments, module coordination, and student support.
  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure programmes meet workforce needs and remain evidence-based.
  • Act as module leader or Academic Tutor when required, providing academic and pastoral support.
  • Engage in scholarly activity, conferences, and professional forums.
  • Maintain clinical practice links to support professional registration.
  • Comply with health and safety responsibilities and participate in performance reviews.
  • Undertake other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered healthcare professional (NMC/HCPC) with valid UK registration.
  • Master’s degree in Advanced Clinical Practice, Nursing, or related field.
  • Advanced clinical experience, including prescribing (where applicable).
  • Teaching or mentorship experience in healthcare or academic settings.
  • Strong knowledge of ACP frameworks and UK healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.

Desirable Experience

  • High-quality teaching experience in higher education.
  • Curriculum development and innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment.
  • Supervising taught postgraduate projects.
  • Awareness of current priorities and challenges in healthcare education.

  • Advanced clinical assessment skills.
  • Strong organisational ability with effective prioritisation.
  • Commitment to collaboration and interdisciplinary working.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Salary: £35–£45 per hour
