About us
We are one of five academic departments in the Faculty of Natural, Mathematical and Engineering Sciences. All departments have a wide-ranging portfolio of established taught programmes and are highly rated in research activities.
The Department of Informatics is supported by an experienced professional services team, working in partnership with academic colleagues, as well as faculty and central directorates to provide a high-quality administrative support service and student and staff experience.
About the role
We are looking to recruit a Senior Programme Officer to support the running of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The Senior Programme Officer provides essential support to students and academics working as part of the programmes team to ensure that high quality administrative and student support is provided from enrolment to graduation. Working in a fast-paced environment, the role includes taking responsibility to resolve complex queries and issues, communicating effectively with a broad range of stakeholders, supporting activities such as timetabling, the production of handbooks, supporting assessment processes, and using databases and Microsoft Excel to maintain accurate student data on progress and achievement throughout the student lifecycle.
Working with colleagues to plan and coordinate a varied set of activities across the programme cycle, you will have opportunities to further develop your knowledge of regulations and processes, support the student experience and be part of professional networks promoting and adopting best practice.
As part of a hard-working and friendly department team, you will supervise and manage the work of a small team of Programme Officers, and as part of the King’s community, you’ll work alongside inspiring academic staff, professional services and students.
Celebrating diversity and supporting staff is important to us and we offer a range of provision, training opportunities and support – please see our Staff Benefits pages.
The role will be based at the Strand campus, in the heart of Central London. Professional services staff are currently working on a hybrid basis, meaning the role holders will spend part of their working week on campus and the remainder working remotely.
This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an fixed-term contract until the 13th November 2026.
