Job Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are inviting applications for a lectureship in Psychology (equivalent to tenure-track Assistant Professor) from people who can contribute to undergraduate teaching, postgraduate teaching, and research supervision in Social Psychology at the University of Auckland.

Appointees should have a PhD in Psychology or a related discipline and a strong record of publishing research in Social Psychology. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research area can connect with and extend existing research and teaching strengths in Social Psychology (for more information, see psych.auckland.ac.nz). We also encourage applications from people with knowledge or experience related to New Zealand and the wider Asia-Pacific context.

Applicants will need to demonstrate a capacity for achieving research excellence, gaining external research funds, and contributing to the development of research and teaching programmes in Social Psychology. The successful applicant should also expect to carry a full graduate supervision load. We encourage diversity in our staff and students. Appointees should have the capacity to teach students from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), permanent position

Remuneration: L1-L7; $97,831 - $116,867, dependent on experience, skills, and qualifications.

You must have a PhD in Psychology or equivalent.
