Scientific Training and Marketing Manager - MLC 2706

Contract type: Open-ended

Hours: Full-Time (36 hours per week); however part-time hours of a minimum of 25 hours per week may be available

The Mary Lyon Centre at MRC Harwell (MLC) https://www.har.mrc.ac.uk/ is located in an expanding science and innovation park in Oxfordshire and is a worldclass centre at the forefront of genetics research. As the hub of the new National Mouse Genetics Network, the specialist facilities and capabilities of the MLC support a number of research groups across the UK to accelerate our understanding of human disease.

• A scientific background and experience of working in a scientific environment.
• Experience of working within a customer-focused environment.t
• A willingness to learn and be flexible.
• High level of project management and organisational skills.
• Creative and flexible with the ability to innovate when changes are required.
• Networking skills and a focus on maintaining excellent working relationships with all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and plan training events and engage with tutors.
• Develop, implement and market new training courses and events of interest around training and skills.
• Coordinate and help develop brochures/marketing material to publicise existing courses and increase stakeholder engagement.
• Attend networking events and conferences to promote existing courses and increase stakeholder engagement.
• Use data analytics and customer feedback to inform future marketing strategies and event-planning decisions.
• Survey training gaps and assist in the coordination of new training courses.
• Report on the training financial accounts, raise orders and invoices and, with managers, ensure that budgetary requirements are met.
