About the role:
A vacancy for a Research Laboratory Manager has arisen in the IRD Section within the National Heart and Lung Institute based at Imperial College London and is specifically to support the research undertaken by Professor Lloyd investigating mechanisms of inflammation, repair and remodelling during chronic lung diseases using a combination of mouse models and samples from patients.
What you would be doing:
You will be part of Professor Lloyd’s group within the IRD Section. The work involves a variety of in vivo and in vitro techniques to investigate how the inhaled environment affects lung homeostatic/regulatory networks during health and disease. You will assist in the coordination and management of projects within the group funded by research charities, councils and industrial collaborators, and will advise and supervise research staff, and undergraduate and postgraduate students, help develop techniques and protocols, facilitating paper and grant submissions, and coordinate and arrange meetings.

What we are looking for:
You will have a PhD in a biomedical sciences subject, ideally with high immunology content, and academic or commercial experience. Experience in laboratory-based research is also required, along with strong organisational skills and the ability to produce rigorous and accurate documentation. You should also have good communication and interpersonal skills as they will be required to collaborate efficiently with all members of the group.
