About us

About IOE

IOE is UCL Faculty of Education and Society.

Founded in 1902, IOE has been shaping policy and helping government, organisations and individuals navigate a changing society for the last 120 years. We embrace collaboration and excellence to create a future that is inclusive and just, and have been ranked number one for education every year since 2014 in the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

The Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL) is a large specialist research and teaching department of approximately 110 academic staff. The department is a major world leader in the following subject areas: Early Years and Primary Education, Educational Leadership, Education Policy, and Initial Teacher Education (ITE). We value innovative research, teaching and enterprise in all these areas and combine the very best of research innovation and evidence-based teaching, with a strong commitment to translating our work into policy and practice.

About the role

Programme Leaders in the Centre for Educational Leadership are creative, motivated and solution focused-leaders of both programmes and people with successful, credible experience in the leadership of learning, equity and diversity.

The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative and supportive team. Their main responsibility will be to lead a 3-year UCL school leadership development project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Recognizing the significance of effective school leadership as a lever for system improvement, our partner in KSA has invited UCL to co-develop and support the delivery of a suite of national school leadership development programmes. This is an opportunity for the successful candidate, working with the CEL team, to make a positive impact at scale on outcomes for children in the KSA public school system.

This is a UK-based role, with frequent travel to Saudi Arabia and is available until 31st March 2028 in the first instance.

For any informal enquiries about the role, please contact Greg Ross - greg.ross@ucl.ac.uk
