The London School of Economics and Political Science is looking for a Public Affairs Assistant to join the Public Affairs Team. This is an exciting role for somebody with some experience in public affairs, politics or communications, who is looking to build up a thorough understanding of public affairs and communications and contribute to a range of related activity in a fast-moving, friendly environment.
Awarded University of the Year and ranked 1st in the UK by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, LSE has confirmed its position as a world-leading research university and its research spans the full breadth of the social sciences, from economics, politics and law to sociology, anthropology and finance.
The post holder will support the implementation of strategies to develop and strengthen LSE’s relationship with politicians, policymakers and opinion formers and serve the School’s interests, both in the promotion of academic expertise and in anticipating and responding to developments that effect LSE’s business and reputation. The post holder will play a key role in providing varied support for stakeholder engagement work and helping the Public Affairs team plan for and execute its plans around political party conferences in the autumn of 2026 as well as set piece event delivery across the year.
