We are seeking the AROS Policy and Research Manager to oversee the policy, research, data and accountability roles within the organization; fixed-term, 24 months.
FTE: 1 (35 hours/week)
Term: Fixed Term (until 31/10/2027)
AROS (Anti-Racism Observatory for Scotland) is a bold, community-rooted initiative dedicated to challenging systemic racism, holding power to account, and amplifying the voices of those most affected by racial injustice in Scotland.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in AROS’s policy and research work as well as overseeing the data and accountability work of the organisation. The post-holder will support the strategic development of the policy and research plans of AROS, and ensure it is proactively liaising with public institutions across Scotland. This role will have opportunities to develop, conduct and coordinate primary and secondary research that supports the delivery of the AROS repository.
The role will involve being actively involved in research tasks and projects, as well as managing and supervising others to undertake research tasks and projects. They will be responsible for building relationships with international stakeholders and related projects to build knowledge within AROS and on good practice within anti-racism delivery.
Hosted by the University of Strathclyde in partnership with the Coalition for Racial Equality and Rights (CRER), and funded by the Scottish Government, AROS is in a critical two-year transition toward full independence.
We are looking for Policy and Research Manager to oversee the policy, research, data and accountability roles within the organisation.
Formal interviews are provisionally scheduled for Thursday, 23 October 2025.
Informal enquiries about the post can be directed to Manish Joshi / Tanja Bueltmann, AROS Project Lead (aros-info@strath.ac.uk).
