The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.
We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
About the role
This role will provide high-level support and expert advice for the successful delivery of strategic global partnerships and university networks in education and research.
This is a busy and varied role, key in facilitating partnerships across multiple dimensions of international engagement, such as providing qualitative insights and data analysis to interpret and evaluate opportunities; coordinating high-level visits and delegations; developing agreements; monitoring outputs and impact; and showcasing activities on the website and in marketing and communication channels and collateral.
Reporting to the International Partnerships Manager based in our International Engagement Office, you will work in close collaboration with key internal stakeholders, including our Associate Deans (International) and other academics across our three Faculties. Your internal touch points and networks will include professional services staff across the university, including International Student Recruitment, Admissions, and Academic and Quality Assurance. Externally, the role will be a key point of contact for international partner institutions, including universities, funding bodies and policy organisations in Higher Education.
About you
We are looking for a highly organised relationship builder, someone who has demonstrated the ability to build networks and leverage connections. You will be proactive in your approach and willing to take the initiative to engage with institutional and stakeholder priorities. You will be creative and innovative and have the ability to suggest improvement to working processes, alongside your strong business acumen and creative problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have worked in Higher Education, or have a good knowledge of sector trends and international HE policy developments.
Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
How to apply
Should you wish to apply for this vacancy, please complete the application on the university website, outlining your suitability for the role.
