UEA has some of the most innovative and highly regarded centres for research in the UK. Applications are invited for the post of Research Technician to assist in the research of a BBSRC-funded project which explores a novel role for amino acids in subverting metal toxicity in pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria.
The research aims to uncover new molecular mechanisms by which amino acid metabolism influences bacterial survival under metal stress, with implications for antimicrobial development and understanding host-pathogen interactions.
We are seeking a Research Technician to support laboratory activities associated with this project. You will assist in the preparation and execution of experiments, maintain laboratory stocks and equipment, and contribute to data collection and analysis. The role requires attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Main Responsibilities:
You will have laboratory experience in biological science, microbiology or biochemistry labs. You must be able to meet all of the essential criteria set out in the Person Specification.
This part-time (0.6 FTE) post is available from 1 November 2025 on a fixed term basis for up to three years.
