Become a Research Contracts Officer at a world-leading University
Join Our Team as a Contracts Officer!
We're looking for a skilled and dedicated Contracts Officer to join our Contracts Team. In this role, you'll play a key part in safeguarding the University's groundbreaking research by providing the legal framework our researchers need to explore and innovate with confidence.
As a Contracts Officer, your primary focus will be on drafting and reviewing research contracts to protect our intellectual property. We need someone who is pragmatic and can anticipate potential legal challenges, helping to develop solutions to mitigate risks and ensure our research is protected from legal vulnerabilities. Your ability to understand the broader context of each project will be important in securing positive outcomes for the University.
Clear and effective communication is essential for this role. You'll develop positive relationships and offer clear, concise advice to promote a collaborative atmosphere within the University.
We're looking for a self-motivated professional who can take initiative and manage their workload effectively, often handling multiple contracts simultaneously. Your ability to work autonomously and prioritize tasks will be crucial for the smooth and efficient operation of our contract management processes.
A genuine passion for safeguarding intellectual property and ensuring legal compliance is vital. You'll be dedicated to protecting the University's research assets, allowing our researchers to focus on their work without concern for legal challenges. Your commitment to upholding ethical standards and adhering to legal regulations will be paramount.
We believe in continuous learning and professional development. Your role will involve staying updated on relevant legislation, regulations, and standard processes. We're committed to supporting your professional growth through training, networking, and development opportunities.
Collaboration and teamwork are at the heart of our success. You'll build positive relationships within your allocated faculty, ensuring they have the tools and information they need to access our services.
In this role, you'll be a vital part of a dynamic and friendly team of 18, who collectively draft and review over 3,000 research contracts annually. We're a busy department, fueled by camaraderie and a shared dedication to supporting research excellence. You'll find yourself surrounded by like-minded professionals, all working together to achieve a common goal.
