Applications are invited for a Lecturer in Computational Product Design, on the BDes/MEDesProduct Design Programme.
The School of Innovation and Technology at the Glasgow School of Art seek an experienced and talented lecturer and researcher to join the Product Design teaching team. The post will require knowledge of contemporary approaches to design practice, in particular a knowledge of computational design applications within product design. The role will focus on teaching, and involve providing support and input to programme, course and curriculum co-ordination, development and administration. The role will bridge Product Design with other SIT programmes including Immersive Systems Design and Sound for Moving Image, facilitating cross programme collaboration through computational methodologies. The candidate will possess teaching experience, a research profile (or the capacity to develop such a profile) and a commitment to design practice as a mode of enquiry capable of exploring and evaluating how possible futures become preferable futures.
The candidate will possess a degree in Product Design, Computational Design or a related discipline, and will ideally possess a postgraduate qualification (or significant industry experience). The candidate should also have experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate within Higher Education and experience of working in a collaborative environment. They should demonstrate an understanding of the disparate roles that design practice, and, in particular computational product design, can have in contributing to an ethical, innovative, enterprising and socially responsible engagement with the challenges of today and tomorrow.
Closing date for submission of completed applications: 23:59 (BST) Friday 26th September 2025
Interviews for this post will take place week commencing 06th October 2025
