About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the School of Healthcare at the University of Leicester as a Lecturer in Physiotherapy, contributing to a unique dual award programme delivered in partnership with Chongqing Medical University (CQMU). You will play a key role in teaching and assessment across the BSc Physiotherapy (University of Leicester) and BSc Rehabilitation (CQMU) programmes, with regular travel to China as part of our flying faculty team. Teaching blocks in Chongqing are typically arranged in two to four visits per academic year, each lasting around three to four weeks.

You will be part of a dynamic and supportive academic team, delivering high-quality, research-inspired education across core domains including Musculoskeletal, Cardiorespiratory and Neurological Physiotherapy. In addition to teaching, you will contribute to curriculum development, student support, and academic leadership within the School. The University of Leicester is committed to inclusive and impactful education, and this role offers the chance to shape the future of physiotherapy training in an international context.

About you

You will be a registered Physiotherapist with the HCPC and have experience teaching within physiotherapy education. Your clinical expertise will span a range of core areas, and you will be confident in delivering engaging and innovative teaching both in-person and online. A Fellowship of the HEA or equivalent teaching qualification is essential, or you must be willing to obtain one within a set timeframe. You should also be prepared to travel to China for approximately 10–12 weeks annually.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about student-centred learning and committed to equity, diversity and inclusion. Ideally, you will bring experience in curriculum design, international collaboration, and pedagogical scholarship.
