Applicants are invited to apply for the position of Research Associate within the Cardiff School of Engineering.
The main duty of this role is to conduct research within the Advanced High Voltage Engineering Research Centre in the field of tunnel power cables earthing, safety and protection under electromagnetic transient voltages and currents. The work will examine previous calculations and evaluate the alternative working methods for implementation on practical tunnel project, as well as further investigations to consider various safe working scenarios. The post holder will contribute to the overall research performance of the School and University, carrying out research leading to the publishing of high-quality research. To pursue excellence in research and to inspire others to do the same.
This post is full time (35 hours per week), available from 1st August 2025 and is fixed term for 7.3 months or until 30 September 2026, whichever date is earliest.
