The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.
We are looking for a part-time Graduate Studies Administrator to join the academic administration team, reporting to the Academic Administration Manager.
About the Role
The post is permanent and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. The post is part-time 50%. Flexible working patterns will be considered but the postholder will be required to work on-site on Fridays.
You will provide high-quality administrative support for the planning, co-ordination, and delivery of a range of academic and administrative processes, including graduate admissions. You will act as first point of contact for student queries, providing course specific advice and guidance on recruitment and admissions arrangements. You will co-ordinate lecture timetables including online arrangements where appropriate.
About You
You will have a good level of general education to A-level standard or equivalent, along with strong administrative experience, preferably in a higher education institute or similar field. With excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong organisational skills you will be able to independently manage a demanding and dynamic workload, prioritizing completing demands effectively. Experience of working within academic administration would be desirable, as would experience of editing webpages and electronic learning resources (e.g. Canvas).
