The Director of Finance & Planning is recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant (Tax & Projects) to join the team. This role is responsible for ensuring the University of Winchester meets all UK and overseas tax obligations including UK VAT and overseas GST, import taxes and Corporation Tax. The role will support the work of the People & Culture team to ensure the University complies with employment tax rules and employment status regulations. The postholder will advise on tax implications of new projects and work closely with senior professional services and leading academic staff.
In addition, the Senior Financial Accountant will support the work of the Finance Operations team, including reviewing the impact of new financial reporting standards and supporting the year end and statutory accounts processes.
The Senior Financial Accountant will lead a range of projects for the University’s Finance Department.
As part of the Finance and Planning department, the post holder will play a major role in being responsive to the Higher Education policy environment and will keep up to date on changes in regulations. In addition to having relevant knowledge and experience, the successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with significant interpersonal skills who is able to provide guidance and training to finance and non-finance colleagues.
