Background
The IT Support function of Information Technology provides IT and AV support for Staff and Students across all sites at City, University London. Support is provided over the phone, with remote tools and local visits.
Responsibilities
The primary objective of the AV Technician position is to offer swift and customer-oriented first- and second-line technical assistance to all individuals utilising audio-visual and other specialist technology at the University. This role includes maintaining and troubleshooting a wide range of equipment, applications and systems.
The post holder will also be expected to provide first line support to computers and laptops used for teaching purposes.
Person Specification
You should be educated to GCSE or equivalent with a good range of communication and interpersonal skills. In addition,
you will have a good level of analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to use your own initiative and work independently.
You will possess a wide range of technical skills to meet the requirements of the University technology, users and customers. Experience in tasks requiring customer contact would be advantageous.
