We are seeking an inspirational educator with the enthusiasm and ability to deliver collaborative, student-centred learning experiences, while drawing on a broad, cross-disciplinary knowledge base that encompasses fundamental engineering principles and technology, design, materials and manufacturing.
You will have a demonstrable track record of applying these skills to the successful delivery of project-based learning experiences, including proficiency with CAD and familiarity with practical workshop processes, equipment and tools.
With a philosophy of ‘knowledge applied’, courses in the School of Engineering and Built Environment place a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and all our engineering courses incorporate a significant portion of project-based learning at each level.
We also encourage students to develop as professional engineers through engagement with extra-curricular activities and entries into competitions such as Formula Student, Engineers Without Borders and the BMFA Payload Challenges.
The School of Engineering and Built Environment brings together engineering, construction and surveying, physics and the built environment. With excellent links to industry, we provide applied learning opportunities for students and our graduates perform strongly in the labour market.
We are a welcoming community swhere staff and students are encouraged to develop their careers and make a fulfilling impact.
We offer a diverse range of benefits and opportunities to pursue a rewarding and fulfilling career in a supportive environment.
You will be contractually enrolled into the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) – one of the largest and most generous defined benefit pension schemes in the country
If you are, or have been, a recent member of the Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) directly prior to joining us, you can choose to opt out of the TPS and remain in the USS. Please contact the Pensions team to discuss options available.
The University may be able to sponsor the employment of international applicants in this role; this will depend on a number of factors specific to the individual applicant.
We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements.
