An exciting opportunity has arisen within the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science for a proactive and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Teaching Support Technician. Based at the Sutton Bonington Campus, this role supports the delivery of practical teaching across a range of laboratory and animal-based settings.

Technicians in this role are essential to the smooth running of teaching activities, including setting up and clearing away materials and equipment for clinical teaching classes. The role also involves supporting senior technicians with the preparation chemicals and media, maintaining stock levels, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of teaching laboratories and associated areas.

In addition to laboratory support, the technician will assist with animal care duties across the school’s facilities, including kennels, small holdings, and the livery yard. We are looking for a candidate with strong communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The role requires physical capability to lift and move equipment and consumables. Basic IT skills and an understanding of health and safety procedures are essential. Candidates must have a minimum of GCSEs (grade C and above) in Maths and English or equivalent, or relevant work experience in a similar technical role..
