Postdoctoral Fellow in Entrepreneurship

The Entrepreneurship Foundation in Lund announces a three-year postdoc stipend for Entrepreneurship studies at the Department of Business Administration, Lund University School of Economics and Management. 

We are seeking a highly motivated reserearcher with a deep interest and specialization in studying entrepreneurship using econometric and statistical methods. The candidate should be familiar with Statistics Sweden’s statistical databases for research purposes. 

The postdoctoral candidate will engage in research within the area of “Entrepreneurial ownership”, coordinated by the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE), at the Department of Business Administration, Lund University. 

The research project will be based in the subject area entrepreneurship. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of theoretical and empirical knowledge about gender dynamics in entrepreneurial ownership in Sweden, highlighting the challenges and opportunities faced by male and female entrepreneurs. The postdoctoral fellow will work on the project together with Professors Diamanto Politis, Lucia Naldi, and Jonas Gabrielsson. 

The Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship (SKJCE) is a vibrant and internationally recognized high-class entrepreneurship education and research arena. SKJCE conducts research in various areas, including entrepreneurial learning and education, academic entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial ownership and finance, social entrepreneurship, the entrepreneurship industry, and immigrant entrepreneurship. 

ASSESSMENT CRITERIA AND QUALIFICATIONS

This position is primarily focused on research and serves as a career development opportunity, intended as an initial step towards taking on a professorship in the future. The assessment of applicants will primiarly be based on their research qualificaitons and potential as researchers. The main assessment criteria are as follows: 

  • A completed PhD in the relevant field or a related topic, obtained no more than three years prior to the application deadline.
  • Documented ability to develop and conduct high-quality research.
  • Documented experience of conducting research using econometric and statistical methods.
  • Strong proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Familarity with Statistics Sweden’s statistical databases.

Additonal consideration will be given to collaborative skills, enthusiasm for research, the ability to conduct research independently, and how the applicant’s experience and skills can complement and strengthen ongoing research at the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship. 

TERMS OF THE POSTDOC SCHOLARSHIP 

The post-doc position is a full-time scholarship for three years, offering a stipend of SEK 350.000 per year, which covers living expenses (SEK 335.000), and insurance (SEK 15.000 SEK). The stipend holder will be based at the Sten K. Johnson Centre for Entrepreneurship, Department of Business Administration, Lund University.

  • Copies of up to five selected publications or working papers.
